Mat Gardner
Gardner joined the Giants from the Leeds Rhinos and is predominently a winger.
Gardner,
who is 192 cm and 98 kg, has played in 3 Academy Grand Finals with Leeds. He has represented the Lancashire Academy and also
was selected in the England Academy team that beat the Australian Schoolboys last year.
In 2004, he played Super League
whilst on loan with Castleford and at the end of that season, was selected for the Cumbria team that played against the Anzacs.
It
is rumoured that Gardner can do the 100 metres in 11 seconds- so one to watch out for in Super League

to be able to run 100m in 11 seconds, he is also big and difficult to stop. He has played in 3 Academy Grand Finals with Leeds
and also has Super League experience from a loan spell at Castleford in 2004, where he scored one try. He will be looking
to make a place on the wing his own in 2006, and to recreate the try-scoring exploits of his brother, St Helens and Great
Britain star Ade.
